After retiring from a career in teaching, Deena
concentrated on her love of art. She took
classes in drawing, watercolor, collage,
silkpainting, and mosaics. Her view of art
stresses the importance of design and color
over strictly realistic representation. Recently,
Deena has been concentrating on mosaics in
the classical style which allows her to
concentrate more on color and design. In her
watercolor paintings she has resisted the
tendency to conform to a single style, but again
has attempted to keep color and design in the
forefront.
